About Tom Parsons

Tom Parsons is the founder and director of The Hertfordshire Guitar Orchestra. He worked initially in pop and rock music, then went on to study classical guitar with the late Oliver Hunt achieving a Performance Diploma from the London College of Music. He continued with further studies in composing and arranging also with Oliver Hunt. Subsequently, for many years he ran a successful covers band playing clubs, hotels, dinner dances and backing cabaret.

Based in Watford, he now divides his time between teaching guitar and composing and arranging for and directing The Hertfordshire Guitar Orchestra and the Guitar Project at Watford School of Music.

The quality of his tuition and variety of music is exceptional. The age varies from young teens to retirees. I like the fact that we explore all ranges of music from classic to pop and rock. As a band, we have electric, bass and classical guitars and we each play different parts to the music. I started guitar as a child yet I know I have improved more in the past 3 years than all the past years put together and hope this group keeps growing.
